Abstract
This study systematically reviews research literature on New Basic Education (NBE) over the past three decades based on data from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). The review shows that while NBE has achieved remarkable results in concept renewal, curriculum and teaching reforms, it still has shortcomings in implementation in ethnic minority areas, subject-specific strategies, and research methods. The article also proposes future research directions and issues to facilitate the in-depth development of NBE.
