About the Journal

Global-Regional Sociology is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing sociological knowledge of the complex interplay between global processes and regional dynamics. Situated firmly within the disciplinary traditions of sociology, the journal publishes original research that interrogates how social structures, cultural meanings, institutional arrangements, and everyday practices are simultaneously shaped by transnational forces and locally embedded contexts.

The journal seeks to bridge macro-level globalisation theories with meso- and micro-level regional analyses, offering a critical platform for sociologists working on issues of social inequality, migration, urbanisation, social movements, labour relations, gender and ethnicity, governance, and social policy. We are particularly interested in comparative, historical, and multi-scalar approaches that illuminate the mechanisms through which global trends—such as economic integration, climate change, digital transformation, and geopolitical shifts—are mediated, resisted, or reinterpreted within specific regional settings.

Global-Regional Sociology welcomes theoretical contributions, empirical case studies, comparative analyses, and methodological innovations that deepen our understanding of social change across world regions. The journal also encourages interdisciplinary dialogue, provided the core analytical lens remains sociological.
